Eyelid surgery/Blepharoplasty

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a cosmetic surgery that reshapes the upper eyelid by the removal of excess tissue. It can reduce sagging or puffiness and folds.

If medically necessary it may be covered by your insurance company. EyeCare Associates of Texas, P.A. offers the state-of-the-art eyelid surgery with Dr. Silus P. Motamarry.

Dr. Motamarry has been performing the procedure for over 5 years with outstanding results.

How Blepharoplasty is performed:

  • Small incisions are made along the natural lines of the eyelids, such as the creases of the upper lids
  • The skin is separated from the underlying fatty tissue
  • Excess fat and excess skin are removed
  • The incisions are closed with sutures, which are removed 1 week following the surgery. The procedure typically takes one to three hours

Recovery time

Initial swelling and bruising take one to two weeks to resolve. Several months are needed for the final result to stabilize.

Dr. Motamarry may recommend blepharoplasty for you if your vision is impeded by skin hanging down from your upper eyelids over your eyes. More than any other facial feature, the eyes have a tremendous impact on your appearance, and are often the first feature to show signs of aging.

With blepharoplasty surgery, Dr. Motamarry can remove the excess skin and underlying fat. The staff at EyeCare Associates of Texas, P.A. is ready to show you what specialized care is all about.
